Why Should I Become a Volunteer?

At the local level, Little League relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. Liverpool Little League program is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate Little League events and activities. 

Who Can Volunteer?

Liverpool Little League welcomes volunteers from all walks of life, with a wide range of talents and skills. All parents of children participating in the Liverpool Little League are particularly encouraged to volunteer, as this can provide an opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a fun and safe environment.  Additionally, our volunteers include grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more. If you are a member of the community and you would like to become a volunteer, we encourage you to apply. 

How Do I Become A Volunteer?

If you are a parent and you would like to get involved in the Liverpool Little League, we encourage you to sign up to volunteer while you register your child. Simply fill out the volunteer form as part of the registration process or click the "Sign-Up" button below to begin the volunteer registration process. We appreciate your willingness to give your time and energy to support our organization and the children who participate in it. Open Positions & Job Responsibilities

Current open positions for 2026:
  • Safety Officer
  • Equipment Manager
  • Field & Maintenance Associate Director
  • Event Coordinator

  • Player Agent - AA Division and Below

Safety Officer:

  • Be responsible to create awareness, through education and information,  the opportunities to provide a safer environment for Players and all participants of Little League.
  • Take ownership of executing all aspects of the Local League’s ASAP Safety Plan.
  • Develop and implement a plan for increasing the safety of activities, equipment and facilities through education, compliance and reporting which may include:
  • Education – Facilitate meetings and distribute information among participants including players, managers, coaches, umpires, league officials, parents, guardians, and other volunteers.
  • Compliance – Promote safety compliance leadership by increasing awareness of the safety opportunities that arise from these responsibilities.
  • Reporting – Define a process to assure that incidents are recorded, information is sent to league/district and national offices, and follow-up medical information  and other data is forwarded as available.
  • Training – Ensure  all individuals who submit the Volunteer Application complete  Abuse Awareness Training per Little League Regulation I(c)10 and as outlined in the Little League Child Protection Program.
  • Child Protection Program – Ensure the league is compliant with all aspects of the Little League Child Protection Program.
  • First Aid – Develop and lead training that fulfills all Local League requirements for First Aid, AED and CPR.

Equipment Manager

  • Purchase all necessary equipment for coaches, including, but not limited to, baseballs, softballs, catchers gear, buckets and first aid kits
  • Conduct an inventory of all equipment prior to the initiation of the season
  • Distribution of all equipment to coaches at the beginning of each season as well as collection of all equipment to coaches at the end of each season
  • Provide an assessment of the status of the equipment at a Liverpool Little League Board of Directors meeting
  • No prior experience necessary

Field & Maintenance Director

Work with Field & Maintenance Director to ensure proper playing conditions at all fields and League complexes

  • Communicate with Town of Salina and Town of Clay Highway Departments on any changes or issues related to Town Property
  • Purchase all necessary equipment for the league to ensure safe playing conditions, including, but not limited to, field chalk, Diamond Dry, field dirt, bases, portable pitching mounds
  • Coordinate delivery of any bulk field items including field chalk, Diamond Dry and field diry
  • Coordinate any work completed by third-party operations on league fields and complexes (work to be approved by Board of Directors first)
  • Lead opening (before Spring season) and closing (after Fall season) of fields & League complexes, ensuring everything is prepared for winter

Event Coordinator

  • Lead and coordinate in planning of all major League events including Pancake Breakfast, Player Evaluations, Opening Day Ceremonies and Aging Out Ceremony
  • Develop and lead committee of volunteers to assist in planning and execution of League events


Sponsorship Sign Coordinator

  • Maintain inventory of all League sponsorship signs, including a list of those in need of replacement
  • Order new sponsorship & league required signs based on new sponsorships and/or signs needing replacement
  • Coordinate hanging of all league signs at League complexes


Player Agent

  • Record all player transactions and maintain an accurate and up-to-date record thereof
  • Conduct & lead player evaluations, player draft, and all other player transactions or selection meetings
  • Maintain active list, approved by majority vote with other player agents, any players being requested to "play up" and/or substitute on higher division rosters. Determination on eligibility shall be based on player skill level, age, grade and/or discussion with former coaches 
  • Prepare for the President’s signature and submission to Little League Baseball, Incorporated team rosters, including players claimed, and the tournament team eligibility affidavit (applies only to All-Stars)
  • Receive and review applications for player candidates and assist the President in verifying residence or school enrollment and age eligibility, as needed

Division Coordinator

  • Main point of contact for all coaches in assigned division
  • First point of issue resolution, including rule disputes, for anything pertaining to assigned division
